Based on the Scripture Story

When the Risen Christ appeared to the Apostles, He swept away their fears. But forty days later, standing on the Mount of Olives, Jesus invited them to prepare their hearts, saying: “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you” and “you will be my witnesses to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

Then Jesus left!

We can imagine their confusion, and a desperate need for prayer. Now responsible for Jesus’ mission, they came together and prayed intensely as they waited nine days for Pentecost.
